On April 1st, MOM I’M FINE was launched on Instagram by Jonathan Kubben
as a way to reassure his mom during his journey around the world.
Jonathan began to engage humanitarian missions and started in Morocco with the Belgian Agency for Development Cooperation.
Jonathan joined a humanitarian mission in Saint Martin after Hurricane
Irma hit the island.
During that time, an earthquake of a magnitude of 7.1 struck Mexico and caused damage in many cities across the country. As a way to help, Jonathan participated in conferences with Anáhuac University in Mexico, and donated all funds to reconstruction and victims of the earthquake.
Jonathan received the ‘Best Philanthropy/Green’ award at the Influencers Awards in Monaco. During this time, he also announced his idea to build a school with plastic waste in Tulum.
Jonathan Kubben and Los Amigos de la Esquina become partners in the Tulum edition of the MOM I’M FINE PROJECT.
Archstorming, a competition for professionals and students in architecture, launched a global competition to find a proposal for the project. Around 200 teams of architects entered the competition and proposed their designs.
Jonathan joined UNICEF in a humanitarian mission in Madagascar. During the mission, he had the opportunity to learn more about building schools and improving essential elements, such as water access and child protection.
A winner was chosen from the Archstorming competition. Unfortunately, the project of the first prize winner is not accepted due to reasons beyond our reach - however, this design might be implemented in Bangladesh in the near future.
As a result, the team and design of David Nee Zhi Kang is picked for the project.
Jonathan received the award for ‘Best Philanthropy/Green’ for the second year in a row and ‘Influencer of the Year’ at the Influencers Awards in Monaco.
